Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust (CHFT) is seeking an outstanding Executive Director of Finance to join our Board and help shape the future of healthcare services across Calderdale, Kirklees and the wider West Yorkshire system.

### Main duties of the job

As a member of the Executive team, our Executive Director of Finance will provide strategic leadership for the Trust's financial strategy, financial management, procurement and contracting functions, supporting the delivery of our ambitious strategic objectives while ensuring long term financial sustainability.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and forward-thinking finance leader to contribute to the overall leadership of the Trust whilst helping to shape care delivery across the wider health and care system. Working closely with colleagues across the Trust, West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board, NHS England and partner organisations, you will play a pivotal role in supporting transformation, innovation and continuous improvement to deliver the very best outcomes for our patients and communities.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

## Person Specification

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- CCAB/CIMA qualified.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.

**Desirable**

- Master's degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
- Applicable, additional leadership development.

### Strategic Finance Leadership

**Essential**

- Existing NHS Director of Finance/Chief Finance Officer, NHS Deputy Chief Finance Officer, Deputy Director of Finance or equivalent senior finance leader with substantial experience gained within an NHS Foundation Trust, NHS organisation, or other large, complex organisation.
- Extensive knowledge of NHS financial management, commissioning, contracting, funding and accountability arrangements, together with current and emerging NHS policy.
- Proven track record of developing and delivering Board-level financial strategy, planning and forecasting.
- Successful delivery of financial sustainability, productivity improvements, capital planning and value for money
