### Job overview

The End User Computing Product Specialist is a technical role that sits within ICT Operations. It has delegated responsibility for key tasks enabling operational continuity and future development of Trust user device estate within their allocated specialism.

This is a full time role, primarily based on site, with some home working possible where operationally appropriate. Normal operational hours are 08:00-17:00 Mon-Fri, with a rota in operation between team members to ensure these hours are covered.

The post holder will also be required to participate in an on-call rota to provide support for any significant issues outside normal operational hours.

### Main duties of the job

- Act as a key technical authority within the End User Computing (EUC) team. Providing in person and remote support to Trust staff.
- Provide proactive specialist advice, development, and management of systems within your area of specialism.
- Work with EUC Senior Product Specialists on the management and configuration of Trust deployment tools such as Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Intune.
- Coordinate and complete upgrade and maintenance activities including patch, upgrade, hot fix deployment
- Review and remediate non-compliant endpoint devices within the remit of the End User Computing Team.
- Design, development and deployment of proactive performance and integrity monitoring for the supported services.
- Assist with resolution of Service Desk calls and underlying problem diagnosis as appropriate in line with agreed SLAs or OLAs.
- Raise, implement, and review technical change requests in line with the Trust ICT Change Management Policy
- Work with Infrastructure Operations and EUC Senior Product Specialists to review and develop solutions and technical designs.
- Work with Project Managers and Programme Managers
- Lead on non-project work packages to deploy minor works and agreed solutions.
- To work onsite or remotely as directed by EUC Manager and/or operational need
- To be part of an on call rota
- To undertake any other duties that would be a reasonable expectation of the role as directed by the EUC Manager

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Knowledge of, and exposure to Virtual Desktop platforms, including on-premises and cloud-based, including secure remote access gateway access in combination with RSA/MFA.
- Specialist knowledge across Systems Support or Administration with a specialism in Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems, and or iOS, and system administration tool sets, such as Active Directory, Group Policy, Intune, SCCM.
- Strong knowledge of cloud technologies, specifically around Microsoft Azure, Office 365, sharepoint/onedrive usage scenarios.
- Knowledge of certificates and their uses across windows and iOS platforms
- A keen understanding of modern large scale deployment methods and tools, such as Microsoft Autopilot and or iOS enrolment for automated and streamlined deployment and provisioning of devices
- Has had real world demonstratable knowledge of scripting/automation leveraging Microsoft Batch and PowerShell, mainly for use in the creation of scripts/configs for application for silent/unattended installations, for windows and/or iOS platforms.

**Desirable**

- Recent experience in a microsoft server Systems Engineer type 3rd Line role, deploying, maintaining, and supporting technologies relevant to this role. OR 3+ years in a 2nd Line Endpoint support role for windows and/or iOS devices.
- Proven experience in delivering high-quality documentation around processes and procedures.
- Has worked on large scale app/OS deployments/projects in either windows or iOS platforms
- Strong troubleshooting skills, able to interrogate log files and system events/errors, and able to produce detailed reports on findings and present solutions to colleagues to resolve issues at scale
- Working experience in any of the following products:
- Imprivata
- Ivanti Mobile Iron
- Microsoft SCCM
- Microsoft Intune
- VDI platform
- VMWare vSphere
- MS W365 Cloud PC
- Lansweeper

### Analytical and Judgement Skills

**Essential**

- Analyses, investigates, and resolves (or escalates when required) complex service and infrastructure issues which interact with complex elements of the ICT infrastructure
- To be able to balance complex workloads and prioritise threat investigations and mitigations
- In conjunction with colleagues, continually analyses, and assesses current information systems to identify future requirements and potential service improvements

### Communication and Relationship Skills

**Essential**

- Proven ability to communicate complex technical information and tailoring it according to the other party’s ability, when responding or presenting to staff, colleagues and other audiences as required
- Understand, review and produce complex technical documentation
