### Job overview

The Estates Department provides a comprehensive maintenance, repair and installation service of the buildings, grounds, engineering services and associated equipment throughout the Trust.

You must hold a recognised trade apprenticeship and a minimum qualification of BTEC, ONC, HNC or similar certificate or equivalent qualification/experience and previous electro-mechanical maintenance experience would be advantageous as would being conversant with Health & Safety issues.

You must hold a current UK (manual) driving licence and reside within half an hour normal travel time to fulfil on-call duties.

The role is Monday – Friday  plus opportunities for overtime and weekend working.

Salary: £39,959 - £48,117 per annum (Band 5) plus local RRP (£3,500 pa).

Base Location: Bournemouth Hospital

## Person Specification

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Thorough knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and statutory policies & procedures relevant to managing relevant to the management of public buildings, construction & building maintenance

**Desirable**

- Knowledge of NHS building design
- Working knowledge of Construction Design and Management Regulations

### Experience

**Essential**

- Substantial experience managing a multi-disciplinary teams / contractors in the built environment
- Experience in using computer aided facilities management (CAFM) software
- Experience of working in the Construction or Healthcare Building services industry including site supervision of contractors

**Desirable**

- Previous experience in NHS

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Degree in construction or building services plus specialist training and knowledge to diploma level or equivalent experience gained through a relevant apprenticeship plus additional knowledge and experience gained through training, short courses and CPD

### Personal Attributes

**Essential**

- Full driving licence & prepared to travel between sites.
- Professional, calm and efficient manner
- Effective organiser

### Language Requirement

**Essential**

- Be able to speak English as necessary to undertake the role

### Technical Skills Competencies

**Essential**

- Experience of management / maintenance of Fire Doors
- Experience of working in Confined spaces / working at Height
- Good communication skills with the ability to deal with staff at all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to explain complex and technical information to a range of audiences both specialist and non-specialist.
- Good organisational and planning skills

**Desirable**

- Previous experience of being an authorised person
