We are looking for enthusiastic candidates to join the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) Implementation Programme as Epic Credentialed Trainer (Junior IT Trainer). We are looking for individuals who are confident communicators, enjoy helping others, and are willing to learn. Clinical experience, operational knowledge, and an understanding of how care is delivered are often more valuable than technical expertise.

You will receive comprehensive support and training to build the knowledge and confidence required to deliver efficient Epic training. Successfully completing the credentialing process will lead to recognition as an Epic Credentialed Trainer, a respected qualification within the Epic and NHS digital communities.

### Main duties of the job

By joining the LGT Epic Training Team, you will play a key role in helping colleagues confidently use the Trust's Electronic Patient Record system, ultimately supporting safer, more efficient patient care.

In the Epic Credentialed Trainer role, you will:

- Understand Epic workflows and system functionality
- Learn how to deliver engaging classroom and virtual learning sessions
- Support staff with training queries and administration activities
- Build confidence in facilitating discussions and answering learner questions
- Develop professionally as part of a recognised digital training team

Please note, this role requires you to be mostly onsite, delivering classroom training across different sites of the Trust and partner organisations. As part of supporting a 24/7 NHS service, the post holder may be required to work flexibly, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays when necessary.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will be a key player within the EPR Programme training team delivering high-quality digital training for the Trust’s Electronic Patient Record system (Epic) implementation. The post holder will work as part of the training team to design, develop, deliver, administer, support and continuously improve blended learning solutions for clinical and corporate systems training across the Trust and partner organisations.

The role combines training delivery and learning support responsibilities with administration and helpdesk functions, ensuring that learning services, systems and processes meet departmental standards, Learning and Performance Institute (LPI) best practice, and NHS England requirements.

A key focus of the role will be the delivery of formal and informal learning interventions and performance coaching across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical settings, including classrooms, wards, theatres, community sites and other locations throughout the Trust.

Training delivery will utilise a variety of methods, including face-to-face learning, facilitated workshops, live online sessions, hybrid delivery, webinars, Technology Enabled Learning (TEL) and workplace-based coaching.

Learning content will range from digital literacy and basic IT skills through to advanced Microsoft applications, Epic functionality and best-practice use of core clinical systems.

The post holder will support the full learning cycle, assisting with the analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement of learning interventions across the IT training portfolio.

They will contribute to the development and maintenance of training materials, support the promotion of digital and blended learning approaches, and help ensure staff have access to appropriate learning pathways that meet the needs of their professional groups.

Alongside training responsibilities, the post holder will play an integral role in the delivery of the Training administration and help desk service. Working collaboratively with the Training team, operational stakeholders and partner organisations, they will ensure that training administration processes are implemented consistently and efficiently, supporting equitable access to training services across all organisations served by the team.

The post holder will act as a knowledgeable first point of contact for training-related enquiries, using Halo and other service management systems to log, triage, manage and resolve requests in line with agreed standards and best practice. They will support the optimisation and administration of the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring that training records, learning pathways, user access and reporting requirements are maintained accurately and effectively.

The role will also contribute to the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOP), communications and service improvements that enhance the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of IT Training services.

The post holder will be expected to be knowledgeable in IT/EPR applications and related systems and devices, enabling them to effectively support learners, managers and stakeholders. They will work closely with colleagues across partner organisations and organisational teams to develop innovative ways of supporting learning, improving processes and driving continuous improvement.

As part of supporting a 24/7 NHS service, the post holder may be required to work flexibly, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays when necessary.

There will be several key strands to the role:

- Create and maintain training materials and cross-organisational communication cascades to promote IT Training approaches, processes, transformation programmes, and improvement plans.
- Work in partnership with the LMS and Systems Project Manager and Team to optimise the use of the LMS and training tools, ensuring they address complex training pathways and structure and align to the ITCS and LGT Epic Training Strategy and plans.
- Support training, service delivery, and admin and helpdesk function, monitor tasks and quality of outputs to ensure consistency in process implementation and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Support the maintenance of Training SOPs for the IT Training Admin team and cross-organisational processes to ensure an equitable and efficient training service for LGT and partner organisations.

## Person Specification

### Previous Experience

**Essential**

- Delivering training in formal or informal facilitated learning to healthcare staff.
- Creating and maintaining training resources and/or user support materials.

**Desirable**

- Experience of Learning Management System (LMS), administration and compliance monitoring.
- Experience developing eLearning content.
- Epic Credentialed Trainer status.
- Helpdesk/service desk ticket management.

### Education/ Qualifications

**Essential**

- Degree or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Knowledge of clinical pathways, processes and best practices at LGT or partner organisations.

**Desirable**

- Epic experience as a trainer or end user.
- Teaching or training qualification E.g: LPI/TPMA/COLF

### Skills/ Knowledge/ Ability

**Essential**

- Excellent presentation, facilitation, and coaching skills including accuracy and attention to details.
- Significant knowledge and understanding of current legislative requirements and codes of practice regarding FOI, Data Protection Act and Information Governance
- Excellent communication including written and verbal channels, and stakeholder engagement.

**Desirable**

- Knowledge and understanding of the full ADDIE lifecycle.
- Good knowledge of an Acute Trust’s clinical and corporate administrative systems.
