### Job overview

An exciting opportunity has become available within the Nottingham Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) to complement the existing team. Full time positions are available, working a 24/7 following a set rota.

This role will provide an excellent opportunity for development of staff.

### Main duties of the job

This additional roles will provide a crucial function within the Regional EOC team primarily focused on the Dispatching the Emergency Resources within specific divisions and assist in the delivery of performance for the Trust. This will be A4C Band 5 with an element of shift allowance.

It is envisaged the successful candidate will have previous experience of EOC and demonstrate an ability to dynamically make decisions in a high pressured environment, the ability to work on their own initiative within a close knit team and effective verbal communication skills are vital attributes in the successful candidates.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The core responsibilities are to:

- Deliver and exceed Department of Health and locally agreed standards, including the core elements of Standards for Better Health.
- To ensure the effective utilisation of people and vehicles throughout the EOC.
- Support the EOC Management Team in achieving and excelling in the provision of patient care and ensuring patients receive the best clinical routes and outcomes. Due to the 24/7 nature of this high profile environment it will be necessary to undertake some unsocial hours working, covering both day and night shifts over a rotation cycle.

### Applicant requirements

The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable people and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

**Essential**

- Able to understand statistical data
- Can communicate effectively verbally, and in writing
- Good geographical knowledge of EMAS and surrounding districts and basic understanding of dispatch
- Team management/supervisor skills
- Good geographical knowledge of EMAS
- Demonstrates an ability to assess priorities and make decisions
- Effective demonstrable organisation skills
- Capable of problem solving on own initiative
