The post holder will be a skilled and versatile registered nurse with broad clinical experience, strong assessment and decision-making skills, and the ability to work autonomously within their scope of practice. ### Main duties of the job The Enhanced Access Service operates from 1 October 2026, Monday to Friday from 18:30 to 21.30 and Saturdays from 9.00 to 17:00. This is a sessional position offering flexible working arrangements, with post holders contracted to work a minimum number of hours and additional sessions available according to service demand and mutual agreement. The role is designed to support a flexible staffing model, with sessions potentially covered by more than one post holder to ensure service resilience and continuity of care. The post holder will deliver planned and opportunistic care, support the management of long-term conditions, undertake routine nursing procedures, health promotion activities, and assist in improving access to primary care services outside core practice hours. The post holder will work collaboratively with GPs, Phlebotomists, and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective and patient-centred care.
