An exciting opportunity has arisen  within the Endoscopy team to support outpatient activity within our service including capsule sponge and pre assessment. We are looking to recruit a new team member to work at Nottingham City Hospital as part of a fast paced dynamic admin team.

### Main duties of the job

To work as part of an established small team to ensure the smooth running of the outpatient activity within Endoscopy for Capsule Sponge activity and pre assessment. Answering the phone and taking  messages and  answering enquiries from patients.  Booking clinics and procedures, tracking patients, creating correspondence and supporting  the Specialist Nurses, Doctors and Consultants.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Previous Office Administration experience demonstrating use of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. - Demonstration of a full understanding of patient confidentiality

**Desirable**

- Experience of using NHS clinical systems, Nervecentre. - Experience in an Endoscopy or Screening Centre.

### Training & Qualifications

**Essential**

- Educated to GCSE standard with passes at grade C or above for English and Maths or similar through vocational training ..
- Evidence of commitment to continued learning or improvement through attendances at courses
- Good command of the English language – both written and spoken

**Desirable**

- Typing/word processing qualification or equivalent experience.

### Analytical and Judgement skills

**Essential**

- Able to use judgement to made decisions in the best interests of the patient. - Can work in line with standard procedures
- Use resources effectively
- Can work in line with standard procedures

### Planning and organisation skills

**Essential**

- Demonstrates an ability to organise own work schedule
- Manages time effectively - Prioritise tasks effectively - Works to set standards and Procedures
- Recognises problems and escalate accordingly

### Communication and relationship skills

**Essential**

- Must be compassionate and empathetic to patient queries
- Uses correct grammar and Spelling
- Able to produce accurate letters, reports A/I- Friendly, helpful and professional telephone manner
- Able to convey information to patients and colleagues

### Commitment to Trust Values and Behaviours

**Essential**

- Must be able to demonstrate behaviours consistent with the Trust’s “We are here for you” behavioural standards

### Other requirements specific to the role (e.g. be able to drive or work shifts)

**Essential**

- Ability to work evenings and Weekends if required
- Demonstrate enthusiasm to delivering a first class service Ability to work across both NUH sites

**Desirable**

- Demonstrate knowledge of basic admin process, use of excel.
