The post holder will ensure the delivery of safe, effective, high-quality, patient-centered care in line with NHS standards, JAG accreditation requirements, CQC standards, infection prevention guidance, and Trust objectives. The post holder will lead nursing and support teams within the endoscopy service, ensuring effective workforce management, governance, quality improvement, patient flow, operational performance, and financial stewardship. The Endoscopy Matron will work collaboratively with clinical, operational, and corporate colleagues to ensure the delivery of responsive, efficient, and sustainable endoscopy services. ### Main duties of the job Clinical leadership Provide strong, visible leadership to nursing and multidisciplinary teams within the endoscopy service Promote high standards of patient-centred care, dignity, safeguarding, and patient experience. Ensure compliance with JAG standards, CQC regulations, infection prevention policies, and Trust clinical governance frameworks. Lead on patient safety initiatives and ensure learning from incidents, complaints, audits, and investigations. Support the development of evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement. Lead recruitment, retention, appraisal, supervision, and performance management processes. Ensure appropriate staffing levels, skill mix, and workforce planning. Support staff wellbeing, engagement, and professional development. Foster a positive culture that promotes inclusion, equality, and teamwork. Manage sickness absence, conduct, capability, and HR processes in accordance with Trust policy.
