### Job summary

We are currently recruiting skilled and reliable Endoscopy Decontamination Technicians to join a specialist service supporting Portsmouth NHS Trust. This is a key opportunity to contribute to a high-priority programme aimed at reducing a significant endoscopy backlog, with over 1,600 patients awaiting procedures within critical NHS timeframes.

Working in partnership with Xyla, a leading UK clinical services provider, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient reprocessing of endoscopy equipment. Your work will directly support frontline clinical teams by maintaining the highest standards of infection prevention, equipment tracking, and patient safety throughout the service.

The service is expected to run through to March 2027, offering consistent work within a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment. As part of the decontamination team, you will be essential in enabling smooth procedure flow across both endoscopy suites and theatre settings, ensuring all equipment is cleaned, maintained, and ready for use in line with strict regulatory standards.

### Main duties of the job

Receive and handle used endoscopes after procedures

Perform manual cleaning and disinfection of endoscopy equipment

Operate automated endoscope reprocessors (AERs)

Inspect scopes for damage, wear, or residue

Maintain accurate tracking and logging of scope usage for traceability

Ensure all equipment meets strict infection control standards

Store cleaned scopes safely and prepare them for reuse

Maintain and monitor decontamination equipment, reporting any faults
