The Directorate of Gastroenterology is seeking to recruit an Endoscopy Administrative Supervisor for the Medical and Pharmacy Service Care Group at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to come and join our team in the Endoscopy Suites based in the Huntsman Building/Coleridge House at the Northern General Hospital, and in the Endoscopy Unit, P Floor at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

The successful candidate will need to be an excellent team player and able to work using their own initiative. We are looking to appoint a motivated individual who must have excellent communication and organisational skills.

This dynamic and interesting role will involve working within our existing multidisciplinary supportive team, providing essential day to day administrative support for Endoscopy services.

### Main duties of the job

To provide senior support and supervision to the Endoscopy Clerks, and to be responsible for co-ordination of the administrative function, ensuring an efficient and effective service for patients and clinical teams.

To facilitate effective multidiscipline team working and communication, to assist in the smooth operation of the Endoscopy administrative function. Additionally, to ensure effective organisation of the waiting lists and procedures lists, to deliver the service within the established service level agreements.

### Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of National Waiting time targets & Cancer targets.
- Experience of working in healthcare or the public sector in customer facing roles, e.g. retail, hospitality, customer care
- Ability to use Microsoft Packages,e.g. Word, Excel
- Evidence of a previous leadership role (either in the workplace or whilst studying or extracurricular)

**Desirable**

- Experience of Infoflex PAS / Lorenzo (or other PAS software) experience
- Experience of supervising or coaching staff (any sector)
- Experience in an administrative role
- Experience of allocating team workloads

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- 5 GCSEs A/9-C/4 including Grade C/4 English and maths or above (or equivalent) or equivalent experience
- 2 A levels or NVQ L3 in a relevant subject or equivalent relevant experience

**Desirable**

- Further academic study
- Demonstrable commitment to furthering own learning and development

- A proven ability to work with colleagues from a range of disciplines and levels of seniority.
- Ability to demonstrate effective team working & supervisory skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
