### Job overview

An amazing opportunity has arisen to work with a dynamic forward thinking, diabetes and endocrinology team at East Sussex NHS Trust.

We are looking to recruit a Band 6 Endocrine Specialist Nurse who is dynamic and enthusiastic about enhancing the quality of endocrine care.  Who is willing to drive, champion, and defend gold standard care for people with endocrine conditions. The post-holder will manage own caseload of patients, performing endocrine dynamic function tests and procedures, delivering education sessions to staff and patients whilst enhancing own skills with the management of patients with endocrine conditions.

The post-holder will be a source of expertise and operate with a high degree of autonomy whilst also working closely and collaboratively with senior medical and nursing colleagues whilst supporting the junior members of the team.

The patient will be at the centre of everything you do whilst demonstrating a supportive, person-centred, and motivational approach with a 'can-do' attitude. You will be working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary teams dedicated to ensuring high quality care of people with endocrine conditions in ESHT.

### Main duties of the job

Working alongside the Diabetes and Endocrinology Team, you will provide autonomous specialist care to adults attending Endocrinology Clinics, using advanced clinical skills and in-depth knowledge of the specialty.

You will provide specialist education to patients and carers to support self-management from diagnosis onward and actively participate in multidisciplinary training and teaching across the Trust.

You will be accountable for maintaining and developing evidence-based practice, contributing to the wider knowledge base in endocrinology, and supporting innovation within the Trust and local networks. In addition, you will assist in developing guidelines, protocols, and policies.

Flexibility is essential, including working across Trust sites as required. Candidates must demonstrate experience in complex environments, strong communication and engagement skills, and the ability to build credibility across teams.
