We have the opportunity for appropriately qualified and experienced Emergency Medicine (EM) Advanced Clinical Practitioner(s) to join our amazing team of Enhanced and Advanced level Practitioners within the Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC) Directorate at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust (NWAFT).

We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated NMC/HCPC Registered Nurse’s, Paramedics or Physiotherapists with the right attributes to work alongside our multidisciplinary team within the Emergency Department (ED) and integrated Urgent Treatment Care (iUTC) at Peterborough City Hospital (PCH).

We are able to support successful candidate(s) with further academic study and training and developing technical skills. This role also attracts Supporting Professional Activities (SPA) time for Practitioners to undertake personal and service development. Therefore, we look for the candidate(s) with the right attributes and characteristics for our team. We will assess people not only on their academic and technical achievements but on their non-technical and communication skills.

Our ACP’s also spend time teaching, training, supporting and developing trainee and junior staff from nursing, medical and allied healthcare professional backgrounds as part of their role.

Consideration maybe given to part-qualified applicants (minimum Post-Graduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Practice) but if successful, pay grade (Band 7) and a development plan would require to be agreed.

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and expertise of the four pillars of Advanced Practice.
- Effective verbal and non-verbal communication across the age and acuity spectrum at all levels.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Competent in 12 lead ECG interpretation
- Competent to interpretation of clinical diagnostics such as blood results and make appropriate plan and intervention including blood gasses.
- Competent to interpret plain radiographs / X-rays and make appropriate clinical interventions from diagnostics

**Desirable**

- Has evidence of a recently undertaken audit of own practice and implemented changes where required
- Competent to interpret Computerised Tomography (CT) images
- Experience of working on a Trust committee or group.
- Working knowledge of Human Resource (HR) policies
- Experience of applying research evidence to clinical practice
- Awareness of local and national issues relating to healthcare provision

### Experience

**Essential**

- Has completed a specific ACP trainee programme
- Has ≥5 year’s whole time equivalent (WTE) post registration experience working within Emergency, Urgent, Acute or Critical Care at AfC Band 5 or above.
- Competent in the clinical assessment and management of all patient groups.
