### Job overview

The post holder will be a member of Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale Early Intervention in Psychosis Team and will carry a caseload of service users aged between 14 years and 65 years, who are experiencing a First Episode of Psychosis. (fixed term - 12 months)

You will be responsible for undertaking initial and comprehensive assessment of health and social care with colleagues and feedback to Multi-Disciplinary Team.

Care co-ordination responsibility for the overall care of an identified group of service users, being part of a service that is committed to recovery and social inclusion.

Carry out MDT activities including being on duty and clinic rota as appropriate and within sphere of profession.

Develop and maintain effective communication strategies within and between Mental Health Services and General Practice Teams to improve care pathways.

Work within TEWV policies and procedures, professional and legal framework upholding the values and ethos of the organisation and profession.

Practice within framework of one's Code of Professional Conduct, Adult and Child Protection Protocols, Mental Health and Capacity Acts.

### Main duties of the job

EIP services are continuously developing and as a result of this we require a highly motivated practitioner to join a dynamic team providing and promoting early identification and intervention for people with psychosis between the ages of 14 and working age adult.

You will be an innovative, creative, practitioner, wanting to develop yourself but also able to contribute to the on-going development of the service. Applications are invited from those with a relevant professional qualification eg RMN/DipSW, Diploma/Degree in OT or equivalent, who have the ability to work independently and within a team. The post holder will be responsible for supervised care co-ordination and co-working of identified clients, ensuring appropriate assessments, intervention and treatment within programs of care.

The post offers a challenging opportunity to work in a creative and innovative service in an enjoyable and stimulating area of clinical practice.

Candidates must have experience working with mental health clients.

We cover a large geographical area therefore the successful candidate will be required to travel independently across the locality.

- Evidenced based knowledge of best practice in caring for patients in the designated field.
- Understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act).
- Care Programme Approach and its application in practice.
- Understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice.
- Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice.
- Clinical Governance and Clinical Supervision.
- Research and development methodology.
- Awareness of psychological models of care and treatment

### Experience

**Essential**

- Working with people with mental ill health.

**Desirable**

- Working in a person centred therapeutic organisation

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Current professional registration with an approved professional body
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
- For registered nurses: MIP, FLIP, ENB 998 Teaching & Assessing in Clinical Practice or City & Guilds 730 Teaching in Adult Education or willingness to work towards. Qualification must be achieved within agreed timescale.
- Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)

**Desirable**

- Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area
