## Job Content

### Job overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Education Simulation Technician Apprentice to join our Resuscitation and Simulation team. This is an excellent opportunity to support the delivery of high‑quality simulation and resuscitation education for clinical staff, learners, and partner organisations.

This apprenticeship provides a structured entry into a career in simulation technology. You will earn while you learn, gaining recognised qualifications alongside hands‑on experience in a busy, innovative service. Working with experienced technicians, educators, and clinicians, you will develop practical, technical, and professional skills that support clinical education and patient safety. On successful completion, there may be opportunities to progress into a substantive Band 4 role.

The role involves preparing, operating, maintaining, and developing simulation and clinical skills equipment for high‑ and low‑fidelity simulation, resuscitation training, and in‑situ learning. You will help ensure sessions run safely and to a high standard.

Applicants will be supported throughout the recruitment process by the Recruitment Team and The King’s Trust. Incomplete applications are unlikely to be shortlisted.

Please note: Applicants must have been resident in the UK for three years or more.

### Main duties of the job

The post holder will develop their skills to support the planning and delivery of simulation‑based education by setting up and maintaining learning environments, responding to equipment issues, and working closely with educators, clinicians, and partner organisations. You will contribute to mandatory and specialist training delivery, including Basic Life Support, and support innovation, service development, and effective use of resources across the Trust and partner institutions.

This role requires strong organisational skills, practical and technical expertise learned through experience in the departments, and the ability to work collaboratively within a busy education environment.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

- Support scenario development, moulage, and enhancement of realism in simulation sessions.
- Maintain safe learning environments, including compliance with health and safety, COSHH, safe storage and disposal of medical meats, and infection prevention guidance.
- Manage stock control, equipment inventory, ordering, and record keeping to support service delivery and income generation.
- Support administrative processes, data entry, and the use of education and learning management systems.
- Work collaboratively with Trust departments and external partners to share resources and support service improvement.
- Participate in events, open days, and promotional activities where required.
