We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated GPhC registered pharmacist to join our friendly, supportive and progressive Early Careers Pharmacist team at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This post offers an excellent opportunity for pharmacists looking to develop a broad range of hospital pharmacy skills within a busy teaching hospital environment. Whether you are newly qualified, currently completing your foundation training year, or looking to transition into hospital pharmacy from another sector, you will be well supported throughout your development.

You will join a welcoming team that values collaboration, learning and professional growth. You will work closely with experienced pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and the wider multidisciplinary team, while also developing confidence to work autonomously as part of the out-of-hours rota.

Our department is fully committed to supporting pharmacist development and delivering high-quality care. You will have the opportunity to undertake the University of Bradford Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy (Secondary Care), subject to tuition fees funded subject to NHS England, and the Pharmacist Enhanced Practice Pathway.

### Main duties of the job

We run a progressive and innovative clinical pharmacy service where successful candidates receive extensive patient-facing clinical experience through rotations across a wide range of specialties including acute medicine, respiratory, older people’s medicine, coronary care, haematology, oncology, paediatrics, renal medicine, intensive care and surgery, alongside other areas.

The post holder will also gain experience in dispensary services, aseptic production, medicines information, radiopharmacy and clinical trials, providing excellent opportunities to develop a full range of hospital pharmacy skills.

This is a three-year contract. We welcome pharmacists looking to move into hospital pharmacy from any sector, as well as applications from trainee pharmacists due to qualify this summer.

To undertake pharmaceutical duties in the clinical area to which the post is attached at any time, these duties include the following:

Communicate medicine related information or training (including clinical, legal and governance medicines training) to patients, relatives, prescribers and other health professionals.

To provide counselling (supported by the provision and development as necessary of specific information leaflets) to patients (and/or carers where appropriate) on any aspects of medication use, in order to improve understanding and compliance with the prescribed regimen.

Undertake holistic clinical review of a patient's drug chart in order to facilitate safe, effective and cost-effective use of drugs, to optimise patient care and to promote effective medicines manahgement.

- Member of the Royal College of Pharmacy
