### Job overview

Dual Role Practitioner – Day Surgery & Theatres

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Day Surgery and Main Theatres Service, which now works as a single, integrated team across Basildon and Orsett Hospitals.

The service is dynamic and varied, with a busy inpatient block comprising 7 theatres, 5 day stay unit theatres, 2 maternity theatres, and an ECT suite. We provide care 24/7, supporting a wide range of specialties – with all disciplines other than neurology carried out at Basildon Hospital.

Day Surgery is a completely nurse-led service in areas such as pre-assessment and discharge. We care for adults, paediatric, and patients with additional needs, with facilities for overnight stays at Basildon. Orsett operates as a stand-alone unit, offering safe, effective, and streamlined care without inpatient facilities.

As a Dual Role Practitioner, you will play a key role across both areas, delivering safe, compassionate, and individualised care to patients at every stage of their pathway. You will ensure dignity, privacy, and respect are always upheld, while working collaboratively within a skilled and supportive multi-disciplinary team.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a diverse surgical setting, supported by colleagues who are committed to professional growth, teamwork, and delivering outstanding patient care.
