### Main duties of the job

We are looking for a competent, self-motivated and professional individual. As a flexible team player you will have excellent communication skills and a strong ability to work accurately to tight deadlines. NHS experience is desirable.

You will need to have excellent attention to detail, ideally some medical terminology knowledge and experience in a busy demanding medical environment. You will need to be able to communicate with staff at all levels to ensure information and data quality meets their needs.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

- This role is pivotal in working with the multi-disciplinary teams within the Cancer Care wards. Helping to co-ordinate inpatient pathways. To help optimise inpatient bed flow.
- To input this data to DWL and initiate an e-Discharge summary with findings and support inpatient team as knowledge grows.
- To work collaboratively with other health care professions to ensure all relevant information is captured for coding purposes. As well as this to keep continuity within a team which is changing regularly.
- To input and check all patient data is correct utilising Trust systems and reports and to facilitate the compliance of correct data for each patient to ensure that a co-ordinated and streamlined administrative process revolves around the patient and their individual needs.
- To provide effective help during ward rounds to ensure efficient patient care.

### Qualifications, knowledge and experience

**Essential**

- NVQ 3 In Business Administration or equivalent relevant experience
- RSA 2 word processing / typing or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology
- Experience in a busy and demanding medical environment
- Experience of working under high pressure and to deadlines
- Admin experience within a customer focused environment

**Desirable**

- e-Camis Trained
- Knowledge of Doctors Work List, Edocs, PACs, eQuest
- Experience working in the NHS with associated IT systems
