It is an exciting time to join our innovative pharmacy department as we develop our service to the specialist medicine business units across UHDB.

We are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Pharmacist to lead our well respected specialist medicine pharmacy team that provides high quality pharmaceutical care to our patients.

You will work closely with other clinical leads in the pharmacy and with divisional senior medical, nursing and management staff to ensure all pharmaceutical aspects within specialist medicine business units are met.

This post is a 12month maternity leave cover post.

### Main duties of the job

- To lead, deliver, develop and evaluate pharmacy services to specialist medicine services across all sites within UHDB in accordance with national priorities and local objectives.
- To ensure that medicines are used safely and effectively in specialist medicine business units (SMBU 1 & 2).
- To lead the clinical pharmacy team in specialist medicine, acting as a role model and developing the team in line with the needs of the service
- Facilitate the cost effective use of medicines by providing regular reports to the Divisional/business unit management and consultant team.
- Deputise for the Deputy Chief Pharmacist – Clinical as required
- Maintain and develop policies and procedures covering all aspects of the pharmacy service to the Division. This includes administrative, clinical, technical and training information and Standard Operating Procedures sufficient to describe the functions of the Pharmacy Service
- Where appropriately trained and qualified the post holder will practice as an independent pharmacist prescriber in line with their competencies, the Trust Non- Medical Prescribing Policy and an agreed scope of practice to meet the local needs of patients, health care professionals and the Trust

### Knowledge, training and experience

- - Proven line management experience
- - Expert clinical pharmacist within clinical speciality. Wide-ranging clinical pharmacy experience and expert knowledge
- - Proven experience of strategic leadership
- - Ability to use research findings to develop services and patient care

**Desirable**

- - Higher degree in a relevant subject, e.g. MSc/PhD/DPharm
