Are you ready to lead transformational change in Acute and Emergency Services at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust? The organisation is seeking an exceptional, dynamic senior leader to join us as a Divisional General Manager, driving performance improvement and innovation.

You’ll bring expertise in performance, financial and staff management, and service redesign - driving improvements that truly matter. Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills will enable you to influence and inspire at every level will help you deliver results in complex environments.

### Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Operating Officer, you will act as the Trust’s subject matter expert for Acute and Emergency Service. You will be responsible for day-to-day operational management. The post holder will assist the the Divisional Team in ensuring that the Care Group & Division delivers its financial, activity, patient experience and clinical & quality targets.

- Proven senior NHS management experience with in-depth knowledge of Acute and Emergency Department care
- Expertise in performance, financial and staff management, and service redesign.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills to influence at all levels.

- Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

### Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

- Ability to negotiate with others in the organisation and externally
- Experience of conducting negotiations involving highly complex, sensitive and contentious matters

### Experience

- Senior NHS Management experience
- In-depth specialist knowledge of elective care, cancer and associated constitutional standard rules gained through extensive experience,
- Extensive experience in financial, performance and staff management
- Experience of managing significant improvement projects and service redesign
- Experience of managing a service with competing stakeholders.
- Experience of undertaking service planning taking into account finance, manpower, equipment and organisational factors
- Knowledge of the national and regional health strategies
- Ability to develop reports within tight deadlines

**Desirable**

- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Email, and have standard keyboard skills
- Knowledge of the clinical governance agenda
