### Job summary

Little Waltham and Great Notley Surgery has an opportunity for a dispenser to join our busy pharmacy team,working across both our sites, atthe heart of our patient care service. This position is offered on a part-time basis for 25 hours per week, working the following shifts:

- Monday 8.30am to 1.30pm
- Wednesday 8.30am to 6.30pm
- Friday 8.30am to 6.30pm

### Main duties of the job

The main responsibilities of the role include:

- Process all relevant prescriptions and repeat prescriptions as authorised by GPs and prescribing nurses
- Collect all due prescription charges and ensure that the patient declaration on the reverse of the FP10 is duly filled in and signed by the patient
- Process hospital letters
- Process dossette boxes
- Manage ordering stock and stock control
- Answer and deal with dispensary phone enquiries
- Monitor patients exemption status
- Sort and dispose of unwanted/returned medication
- Any other duties to assist in the smooth day to day running of the dispensary and surgery as directed by the either the dispensary manager or practice manager

We are a 2-site, friendly training practice with over 21,000 patients. You will be supported by our team of 14 doctors, 3 nurse practitioners, nurses, healthcare assistants, receptionist, and admin team.

## Person Specification

### If you are an experienced dispenser looking for an exciting new role, then we'd love to hear from you. You will have the following skills and experience:

**Essential**

- You will have at least a Diploma Level 2 Dispensary or equivalent Pharmacy Services qualification
- Excellent clinical and medication knowledge
- Understanding and experience of working as a dispenser in GP practice setting
- The commitment to continue to learn new clinical skills and develop your career
- The confidence to work as part of a busy GP multi-disciplinary practice team and using your own initiative in decision making
- The ability to be adaptable and flexible in your approach
- Excellent patient facing inter-personal communication skills
