### Job summary

There are five Director of Operations posts within Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust (LTHT). The post holders will play a key role in the delivery of high quality clinical services and will support a number of Clinical Service Units (CSUs) in the delivery of the Trust objectives, with a particular focus on achievement against the agreed CSU Delivery Contracts. This role requires individuals who are driven, ambitious and passionate about patient care, and who have a desire to influence at the highest levels working in close partnership with senior clinical and managerial staff. To succeed in this role, candidates need to be able to build confidence across the organisation and CSUs as well as with external partners.

First degree or equivalent NHS management experience and evidence of practical application of expertise at this level. Experience of working at senior management level in large complex environment. Highly developed leadership and influencing skills with the ability to enthuse, motivate and involve individuals and teams and have them understand the Trust's and your performance expectations. Ability to lead the redesign of services to ensure they are delivered to the highest standard and are cost effective. Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure whilst supporting and getting the most out of staff. In addition, you will provide leadership, guidance and support to a defined portfolio of CSU’s, through the integrated accountability framework, reporting monthly to the executive Team, in the development of transformational plans.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of working at senior management level in large complex environment.
- Proven experience of leading and delivering against key national performance standards in elective, urgent and acute care pathways.
- Experience of working on and leading on complex business change processes.
- Demonstrable expertise in clinical, service and business management functions including in the application of HR and finance to achieve outcomes in agreed timeframes.
- Experience of working at a very senior level with a multi professional group of staff.

### Other Requirements

**Essential**

- Able to fulfil the Occupational Health requirements for the post (with reasonable adjustments if necessary) including clearance on blood borne viruses in compliance with Trust Policy.
