### Job overview

The Digital Project Manager plays a vital role in delivering digital projects that support the Trust’s strategic objectives and enable safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. Working within the Digital Directorate, the post holder will lead the planning, delivery, and governance of a range of digital projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and using available resources effectively.

The role operates within an established programme and project management framework and works closely with Programme Managers, digital teams, clinical services, and corporate stakeholders. The post holder will develop and maintain robust project plans, manage risks and issues, coordinate interdependencies, and provide clear, structured reporting to support informed decision-making.

The Digital Project Manager will work across varied projects, including new system implementations, system upgrades, and digital transformation initiatives. This requires the ability to analyse complex information, balance competing priorities, and engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels, translating technical detail into clear and meaningful updates.

The role also contributes to the development of standard operating procedures, benefits realisation, and the use of data and performance information to support continuous improvement. This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering the Trust’s digital roadmap and driving positive change for patients, staff, and services.

To project manage a portfolio of transformation and improvement projects, with emphasis on technical infrastructure initiatives, aligned to the Trust's strategic intentions / delivery plans and delivered within agreed timescales.  To maintain a strong working relationship with all stakeholders, demonstrating credibility and a reputation for delivery.  A high degree of autonomy is associated with this role and the post holder will be required to represent the digital team in a variety of forums, both internally and externally; they will provide expertise and support, as required, to clinical managers, technical teams, colleagues and team members.  The post holder is required to maintain a high level of understanding of the strategic digital direction of the organisation and to equip themselves to provide a robust and efficient service across the organisation.  The post holder will be responsible for project budgets.

### Skills

**Essential**

- Strategic thinking and decision making in complex technical environments, particularly healthcare

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Understanding of NHS digital standards and governance frameworks, including data protection and clinical safety.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including networks, cloud computing, and data centres

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience in managing complex technical projects within regulated environments
- Demonstrable experience in service improvement and change management, driving process optimisation and quality outcomes
- Evidence of budget management and financial planning for healthcare IT initiatives.
- Evidence of strong stakeholder management capabilities across all organisational levels, including conflict resolution and negotiation.

### Qualifications

- PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent project / programme management certification (e.g., MSP, APM PMQ)
- ITIL Foundation certification
