Provide assessment and evaluation of inpatient care needs and offer advice and support to ward based staff managing the inpatient with diabetes. To also provide support, expert guidance and education to people living with diabetes, their carers/families and healthcare professionals involved in caring for people with diabetes. The post-holder will be a core member of the Clinical Nurse Specialist team, working in all areas of diabetes and must have a strong teamwork ethos. They will be required to work autonomously and manage their own caseload, run nurse-led clinics and support other healthcare professionals in specialist MDT clinics, such as antenatal clinic, renal clinic, young person’s clinic, etc to meet the often-complex healthcare needs of people living with diabetes. In addition, they will be required to support and supervise junior members of the team.
