## Person Specification

### Skills

**Essential**

- Willing to undertake further education and training
- Ability to prioritise and organise own workload
- Computer literate
- Understanding of national guidance for diabetes

**Desirable**

- Experience of leading group training sessions

### Experience

**Essential**

- RGN Level 1 minimum 2 years
- Evidence of working with people with diabetes
- Ability to apply evidence based practice

**Desirable**

- Experience of working in secondary care

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- First Level Registered Nursing Diploma
- Degree in Nursing or working towards or willing to commence within 1 year of appointment and complete
- Mentorship Preparation Programme or equivalent evidence of continued professional development

**Desirable**

- Independent Nurse Prescriber or willing to work towards once in post
- Relevant post basic qualification: ENB 928 or equivalent Diabetes Course
