Main duties of the job
- Providing strategic leadership to the multidisciplinary team, ensuring alignment with national recovery goals and a clear vision for restoring and strengthening dermatology services. This includes ensuring a high-performing culture through visible leadership, coaching, and supporting clinical and operational teams.
- You will lead weekly performance reviews, identify bottlenecks and risks, and collaborate with Business Intelligence and clinical teams to develop dashboards that track key indicators like demand, capacity, and throughput.
- Utilising best practice guidelines, including those from GIRFT and the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD), to redesign pathways for efficient, safe, and patient-centered care. You will champion sustainable models such as community dermatology, virtual clinics, and enhanced triage to improve patient access and outcomes. This role will involve building the foundations for a future-ready service, including workforce planning, digital enablers, and modern infrastructure, aligning transformation efforts with NHS Sussex priorities and broader outpatient recovery initiatives.
- Developing and executing a comprehensive communication plan to engage all stakeholders (clinicians, executives, patient groups) on recovery progress and transformation changes. You will facilitate regular briefings, translate complex data into accessible messages, and promote a culture of open communication and continuous improvement.
