The Nottingham University Hospital  NHS Trust are offering 12-Month fixed term role to support the launch of a new Telederm Community Clinic for patients with suspected skin cancer. The post holder will be responsible for hosting these Clinic sessions across Community sites in the wider Nottinghamshire area, photographing patients lesions and uploading images to an AI platform for  clinical review.

### Main duties of the job

We have a unique opportunity for an individual to work within the Community and support the launch of a new AI (Artificial Intelligence) Telederm Clinic in  Nottinghamshire. The post holder will have the opportunity to learn key medical photography skills and work independently seeing patients in clinic across Community sites. The new Telederm Clinic will use an AI diagnostic tool which will help us diagnose patients with suspected skin cancer more quickly and closer to home. The post holder will get full training where they will learn key medical photography skills.

The team - The Dermatology team is based at the Nottingham NHS Treatment Centre, the post holder will support Clinics across multiple Community GP Practice locations.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

This role will support the launch of a new 2 Week Wait (2WW) telederm clinic around the Nottinghamshire area.
- The post holder will be responsible for taking telederm pictures for patients that have been referred by their GP to the 2WW telederm community  services, uploading the images and sending them to the AI Analytics Digital Platform.
- The post holder will work within the Community, Mon-Fri,  but their main role will be directed by the Dermatology department and will primarily be the undertaking of taking telederm pictures as above.

Main responsibilities:

- Communicate effectively and professionally with multidisciplinary members of the team, patients and their family/carers.
- To work as a member of a multidisciplinary team establishing effective communication across organisations.
- To demonstrate excellent verbal communication through the ability to give basic information about the Telederm process and support to individuals and to modify the approach to individual needs of the patients.
- To demonstrate excellent documentation on a range of IT platforms as required.
- Ensure patients understand any consent issues.
- Liaise directly with the appropriate clinical staff for any clarification related to photographic requirements.
- Use a secure clinical image (system) for online delivery of images.
- To ensure that the equipment is well maintained and stored appropriately.
- To liaise with Skin Analytics/IT as necessary

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Previous experience in dealing with customers, patients or clients in a work environment
- Basic computer/keyboard skills
- Expertise in using various equipment, from conventional DSLR cameras to mobile devices, and understanding appropriate settings (lighting, focus, composition, exposure) to produce medically and legally valuable images.

**Desirable**

- Previous experience in a health or social care setting

### Physical Skills

**Essential**

- Physically able to perform the full range of clinical duties
- Dexterity and accuracy in undertaking clinical skills, use of equipment and documentation
- Valid Driving Licence and use of car

**Desirable**

- Evidence of moving and handling training

### Training & Qualifications

**Essential**

- To be educated to ‘O’ level, GCSE grade C or above or equivalent standard including English and Maths

**Desirable**

- NVQ / QCF 2 in Healthcare
