The Deputy sister's  Role is one of the key supporting functions to assist  the Senior Sister, enabling them to deliver the optimal care of our patients .

The delivery of a high quality, effective and compassionate care is the most important role within the organisation.

You will take charge of the unit in the absence of the senior sister

### Main duties of the job

An experienced  Endoscopy practitioner who is able to provide competent and skilled assistance, and who is competent to take patients consent for Endoscopic procedures following all trust policies.

Day to Day operational  management Of Endoscopy. To support the band 7 in the delivery of the service by the team or area that you are responsible for or have been delegated in the responsibility.

To participate in the on call rota to assist with Emergency out of hour procedures.

Maintain high Standards of professional practice to ensure quality and safety of patient care, experience and the patient journey.

Reporting on workforce requirements for meeting service demand.

Line management of staff working within the service area.

Responsible for staff supervision. appraisals, management of attendance and performance and identifying and facilitating staff training needs.

Supporting the Senior Sister in ensuring that clinical services are delivered to a high quality of care and that all compliance requirements such as CQC and contractual requirements are achieved.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Professional UK registration e.g NMC

**Desirable**

- Degree level education or equivalent

### Skills and Ability

**Essential**

- Ability to demonstrate the required behaviour in keeping with trust values

**Desirable**

- Customer service experience i.e, dealing with complaints.

### Experience and knowledge

**Essential**

- Evidence of continuing professional development clearly recorded
- Completed clinical placements in a variety of areas
- Knowledge of the management of in patients and out patients including evidence based strategies
- Adherence to current statutory requirements, standards and regulations

**Desirable**

- Experience of staff supervision
