This is achieved by supporting, educating and working with ward staff and the multidisciplinary team; optimising the quality and appropriateness of critically ill patients' treatment, care and experience. The team also provides a trust-wide resuscitation service providing a clinical response to cardiac arrest calls and deteriorating patients, contributing to the delivery of specialised resuscitation training and risk management to a variety of acute and specialist hospitals sites in the centre of London. ### Main duties of the job In conjunction with the band 7s and 8a in PERRT@QS, the Deputy Charge Nurse / Sister will assist in the development of the PERRT@QS (and wider PERRT) service and patient safety by: - Working at an enhanced level / towards an advanced level across the Four Pillars of Advanced Practice. - Provision of an expert critical care nursing response to deteriorating and at-risk patients outside of Critical Care 24 hour per day, 7 days per week. - Supporting patients who step down from Critical Care to the wards. - Supporting of initiatives to improve recognition and response to deteriorating and at-risk patients. - Assisting in delivering training programmes in emergency response and resuscitation practices to clinical staff of all grades and specialities. - Responding as a clinical member of the emergency response / resuscitation teams and whilst attending clinical emergency calls across the Trust, providing expertise to the cardiac arrest team to ensure evidenced based practice is provided and where necessary provide leadership to ensure the best patient outcome. - Ensuring all clinical areas have access to resuscitation equipment (appropriate to area) and consumables across the Trust. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities For the full Person Specification and more information regarding the main responsibilities of this role, please refer to the attached Job Description. - Contributing to service development through clinical expertise, leadership, education, audit and quality improvement contributing to key Trust objectives and supporting national and international patient safety and quality agendas. - Reducing risk and improve patient safety.
