### Job summary

We are looking for a dental receptionist to join our team on a fixed-term (one year), full-time basis to be part of a wider dental team providing reception, administrative & clerical support to the dental service using computerised systems. This will include assisting with the decontamination of instruments, as required.

### Main duties of the job

- Welcome and support patients and carers sensitively; provide clear information and manage expectations.
- Explain NHS charges clearly and appropriately; provide up-to-date leaflets and signposting information.
- Work collaboratively with clinicians, senior leaders and colleagues to keep clinics running smoothly.
- Register patients and maintain accurate records on the practice system (demographics, consents, medical history forms), following Data Protection and confidentiality requirements.
- Optimise the appointment book: protect urgent slots, backfill cancellations, and monitor waiting times using the digital systems.
- Process payments (cash/card), issue receipts, reconcile takings, and support banking in line with finance procedures.
