To provide a high-quality reception and administration service, appropriate to that expected in a primary dental care practice across all Community Dental Service (CDS) sites.

### Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job

- To act as a first and central point of contact for all enquiries to the site, answering queries and providing accurate information, advice and sign posting to individuals both in person and on the telephone.
- To use the electronic patient record system, for booking appointments which includes making bookings for clinics at other CDS locations.
- To deal face to face with dental emergencies, patients experiencing dental access difficulties and patients with special needs.
- To collect any NHS charges and fees along with banking of money collected and completion of documentation to comply with standing financial instructions.

### Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

- Good organisational skills; self-starter and able to use initiative appropriately with only limited supervision.
- Ability to use initiative, tact, and diplomacy when dealing with all enquiries to the service.
- Computer literate

### Training & Qualifications

**Essential**

- Educated to NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration/Customer Service or equivalent experience
- Good standard of education.
- Experience in providing a high-quality reception service
