### Job overview

We are looking to recruit a Band 4 Dental Nurse to join our team at Langthorne Dental Clinic.

This is on a part time basis for 30 hours per week. Salary for this role will be Band 4 AFC £28,392 - £31,157 + 15% Outer London HCA, pro rata, per annum.

As a Band 4 Dental Nurse, you will work closely with all users of our services and their families, friends and carers who all play an invaluable contribution in how users experience our services. Band 4’s are expected to be kind and responsive but professional and informative and contribute to the quality of the services provided across the health economy.

### Main duties of the job

- Follow up Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of delegated caseload and escalating changes to the Registered Practitioner.
- To support in the supervision of Junior Health Care Support Workers and Trainees.
- To actively work as a member of the multi-professional team to provide high quality care to patients.
- To undertake, and report back on delegated clinical activities that have previously been signed competent.
- To undertake clinical interventions utilising a variety of modes, including planning and leading group and individual therapy and issuing appropriate equipment as part of packages of prescribed care after achieving appropriate competencies.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

## Person Specification

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Awareness of professional issues and recent developments in the NHS and Primary Care including Clinical Governance, NICE, Essence of Care.
- Knowledge of up to date clinical practice

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience as a Senior Healthcare worker
- Experience with the use of Microsoft Office and a variety of IT packages (E-Pay / E-roster/ Dental Software packages)

**Desirable**

- Experience in a community setting

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Evidence of GDC registered qualification in Dental Nursing
- Functional Skills at Level 2 (Literacy and numeracy/ GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in English and Maths)

**Desirable**

- Post Qualification in RA/IV Sedation
- Post Qualification in Radiography

### Ability To Manage

**Essential**

- Able to support the implementation of local and national agenda’s for health under the guidance of the Registered Practitioner
- Ability to prioritise care delivery in a professional manner, taking account of Trust policies and procedures.

### Skills and Abilities

**Essential**

- Moderate IT skills.
