Candidates will need to be qualified to NVQ level 3 in Oral Health or equivalent and ideally possess a post basic qualification although this is not essential; they will also require current registration with the GDC. One post on this vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of12 months due to the post being part of an organisational change within the Primary Care Dental Service. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts and the management of organisational change. Please note all existing NHS staff will only be considered on a secondment basis. This must first be agreed with your current line manager. ### Main duties of the job The successful candidate will provide comprehensive dental nurse support in the form of clinical and associated clerical duties to the dental team within the remit of the Community & Special Care Service. Assist in the provision of oral health care including the prevention and health education to individual clients who may have learning or physical difficulties, mental health illness, be medically compromised, dependent elderly or have a dental phobia.
