Dental Health Support Worker

The role:

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support families and individuals in improving nutrition and oral health, in line with Dental Public Health Programmes.

You will deliver person-centred support aimed at reducing risk and promoting positive oral health outcomes, helping families and individuals to develop the skills and confidence needed to maintain good oral health.

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Heath and Care Worker visa. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS).

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

• This is a permanent post working part-time hours(24)
• These hours will be worked over Monday to Friday
• This post will be based at Childsmile – South Locality
• Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours

Key responsibilities:

You will work under the direction and supervision of the team leader to deliver individual interventions identified through structured care plans.

These interventions are designed to support families and individuals with identified risks, helping them to maintain and develop relationships with children and carers while building their own oral health support skills.

You will also facilitate access to oral health promotion, dental prevention and treatment services through Dental Public Health Programmes.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

• You will be supported by your team leader and wider multi-disciplinary team to deliver structured interventions effectively.
• An understanding of Dental Public Health Programmes and the ability to engage with families and individuals in a supportive and person-centred manner will be essential to the role.
