Each site has specific maternal medicine specialities and we have level 3 neonatal facilities at the LGI site and level 2 at SJUH site. We have a 3 bedded alongside midwifery unit- Lotus Midwifery Unit- at the LGI site, with birth pools available at both sites. We work closely with obstetric, anaesthetic and neonatal colleagues on our perinatal improvement journey and are passionate about and dedicated to improving experiences and outcomes for our service users. Leeds is a great place to further your midwifery career and widen your knowledge and experience. What you will bring to the role The post holder is an expert clinical practitioner of midwifery. S/he coordinates and manages the day-to-day activities for the delivery suite, obstetric theatres, obstetric enhanced maternal care (EMC), and alongside midwifery unit (Lotus Midwifery Unit), allocating the team in accordance with capabilities and workload. The post holder is responsible for the unit out of hours and at weekends whilst on duty. S/he provides management and professional leadership. The post holder is responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting of standards of care. The post holder provides clinical guidance and support for other members of the multidisciplinary team within the delivery suite, ward areas and other outside agencies i.e. GPs and community midwifery services. He/She facilitates an environment that cultivates the concepts of evidence-based care and is responsible for supervision, education and professional development of staff and students.
