At Wirral CYPMHS, we are working together with families and community services to improve mental health through accessible, inclusive, specialist care and support to increase children and young people’s potential and life chances.

The Mental Health Support Teams are part of an exciting project funded by NHS England, Health Education England and partners, with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties in Wirral Primary Schools. The purpose of the Mental Health Support Team is to promote positive Mental Well-Being as well as Positive Mental Health. The main focus of Mental Health Support teams is:

To provide support and advice to school staff through consultation and training

To work with children and young people 1-1 or through group work

To support schools in their development of a Whole School Approach to Mental Health

We seek to appoint enthusiastic and dynamic individuals who are passionate about CYP mental health. You will be a qualified Senior Wellbeing Practitioner/ Education Mental Health Practitioner/ CYP Wellbeing Practitioner registered with a professional body, or hold a core profession, and have experience of working in a Child and Young person Mental Health Support Team.

If you are a qualified EMHP/ CYWP, you will currently be studying to become a Senior Wellbeing Practitioner or willing to undertake this 2-year training within 12 months of starting this post.

### Main duties of the job

The Mental Health Practitioner/ Senior EMHP/ CYWP role for MHST will support the delivery of all interventions provided by Education Mental Health Practitioners and Children and Young People’s Wellbeing Practitioners, ensuring that a wide range of evidence based interventions are used to support young people’s mental health. You will support leadership and will be involved in the development of the MHST alongside the Clinical Lead, Team Manager and Clinical Coordinator, supervising practitioners and coordinating a cluster of Education Mental Health practitioners and Children and Young People Wellbeing Practitioners. The senior EMHP/ CYWP will also hold a small caseload and provide supervision to practitioners in the team.

Ideally this would be a full-time position, however part-time or flexible hours may be considered. This role will involve remote working/hybrid working however there will be a requirement to work from the office on certain days.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Significant post qualification experience of working within a CYPMHS or Child Mental Health related field.
- Recognised experience of working within an environment where evidence based interventions have been delivered
- Undertaking formal and informal clinical risk assessments and risk management planning
- Undertaking mental health assessments
- IT skills, including using databases, Microsoft Office and clinical systems

**Desirable**

- Post qualifying experience of working within NHS community CYPMHS
- Recognised experience of working within an environment where evidence based interventions have been delivered

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Core profession (Social Work, Nurse, Allied Health Professional) OR Qualified Post Graduate Certificate or above from a provider university as part of the CYP-IAPT programme e.g. EMHP, CWP
- Professional Registration with recognised National Body (HCPC, NMC, Social Work England) OR Professional registration with recognised National Body (BPS, BABCP)
- Nationally recognised post-qualification, continuous professional development (CPD) related to the core profession (Social Work, Nurse, Allied Health Professional) OR Nationally recognised post-qualification, continuous professional development (CPD) related to EMHP/CWP
- Senior Wellbeing Practitioner Course or willing to undertake course within 12 months of appointment.

**Desirable**

- Therapeutic Training to intermediate / diploma level

### Knowledge and Expertise

**Essential**

- Demonstrable working knowledge of specialist therapeutic approaches e.g. CBT, Family Therapy
- Knowledge of Child Protection workings and Practice
- Working knowledge of Children related legislation
- Experience of inter-agency working
- Experience of writing, implementing and evaluating Care / Treatment Plans
- Experience of providing clinical supervision

**Desirable**

- Experience of working with Students/ Learners
- Experience of providing clinical supervision
