Wirral Young Persons Mental Health Service (formally known as CAMHS) is a therapy-based service which offers support to children and young people with mild to severe mental health difficulties and their families and carers. We work in close alignment with the Local Authority, education and the voluntary sector. Our aim is to ensure that children receive the right support, from the right service at the right time. ### Main duties of the job Due to the current national focus on children’s services an exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the development of CYPMHS service in Wirral in response to this challenge. As a member of the clinical team, you will independently provide specialist mental health assessments with children & young people with complex mental health needs. In collaboration with the MDT, as well as the young person and their family, you will develop formulations and advise on treatment pathways appropriate to clinical need. You will also offer advice on appropriate support and signposting. You will undertake preventative aspects of service delivery such as offering consultation and expert advice to other professionals and participating in training programmes. This role does not involve delivery of therapeutic interventions; however, opportunities may be available to work on ad hoc basis with 0-18 CYPMHS. This role will entail high throughput, but you will be joining a highly motivated team and supportive leadership structure.
