We are delighted to invite applications for a 1.0wte full time, 12 month fixed term, Band 7 Operational and Clinical Team Manager opportunities within our Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Services

This is a rewarding leadership opportunity for experienced and motivated professionals who are passionate about improving outcomes for children, young people, and families. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and delivering high-quality early intervention mental health support within the Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) Early Intervention Pathway.

The role involves providing both operational and clinical leadership to multidisciplinary teams working within the mild-to-moderate children and young peoples mental health pathway. You will support the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care, ensuring children and young people receive timely and appropriate support to meet their needs.

### Main duties of the job

As an Operational and Clinical Team Manager, you will lead and support teams to deliver high-quality, evidence-based mental health interventions across schools and community settings. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the service, while also providing clinical leadership, supervision, and guidance to practitioners and supervisors.

Providing operational and clinical leadership to MHST and CWP teams

Line management, supervision, and professional support of practitioners and supervisors

Overseeing referral screening, allocation, and clinical decision-making processes

Managing team performance, caseloads, and service delivery targets

Supporting staff wellbeing, development, and a positive team culture

Working collaboratively with schools, partner agencies, and wider CFHD services

Ensuring services are delivered safely, effectively, and in line with national and local priorities

This role requires a compassionate and confident leader with excellent communication and organisational skills, alongside a strong understanding of children and young peoples mental health and early intervention approaches.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Extensive experience of managing a busy caseload of clients with a range of complex needs.
- Substantial experience of working at a senior clinical level.
- Working within a community childrens service setting.
- Extensive experience of providing clinical supervision and managing staff.

**Desirable**

- Budget management.
- Extensive experience of leading a clinical team.
- Setting up or working within a new service.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- A professional qualification at degree level or equivalent (Psychological profession, Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Social Worker etc.) A teaching qualification may also be considered alongside a health qualification- such as EMHP/CWP with significant post-qualifying experience.
- Active registration or appropriate accreditation with professional body (NMC, HCPC, BACP Registered, UKCP - Registered, BABCP - Accredited).
- Training to level 3 in Safeguarding children and young people: roles and competencies for Health Care staff.

**Desirable**

- Management qualification.
