Applications are invited from both experienced CT Radiographers and HCPC-registered Diagnostic Radiographers who wish to develop a career in CT imaging through a structured training and competency programme. This is a Band 5 to Band 6 Training Post. Applicants who already possess the required CT competencies and experience will be appointed directly to Band 6. Applicants who do not currently possess the required CT competencies but demonstrate the aptitude and commitment to develop within CT will be appointed at Band 5 and supported through a structured training programme. Progression to Band 6 will be subject to successful completion of the agreed CT training pathway and departmental competencies. The post involves participation in a full shift system providing a 24-hour, 7-day CT service. CT competencies are desirable (see personal specification for full details) for direct appointment to Band 6. Applicants who do not currently hold these competencies will be appointed at Band 5 and will be required to complete an agreed CT training and competency programme before progression to Band 6. ### Main duties of the job - Patient centred care - Understanding medical requests - Safely administering IV contrast after completing a thorough questionnaire - Correct moving and handing techniques used - Use of ANTT and good infection control techniques - Information governance to protect patients dignity and privacy - Cannulation - Autonomous working - Take part in non vascular intervention during night shift working - ILS - Radiation protection and ALARP - Training and education ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities - Comprehensive CT training and development programme. - Structured competency-based progression pathway from Band 5 to Band 6. - Support towards relevant postgraduate CT education where appropriate. - Exposure to a wide range of specialist CT examinations and advanced imaging techniques. - Participation in service development, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
