This is a 10 PA Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatry post leading the Hounslow Adolescent Team (AT) in Hounslow CAMHS.

The post holder will be operationally and professionally accountable to the CAMHS Clinical Director through the Borough Clinical Lead, and in turn accountable to the Trust\`s Chief Medical Officer and the Executive Director of Local Services.

This post (10 PAs) provides the opportunity to work with three other Consultant Psychiatrists and the multi-disciplinary Adolescent Mental Health Service based in Hounslow CAMHS. The team sits within the three-borough CAMHS Service Line which also includes Ealing and Hammersmith & Fulham.

This is a well-established post in the Adolescent Team and arises out of the existing post holder moving to another service.

Hounslow CAMHS offers a comprehensive Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service for children, young people and families in the 0-18 age range. It is a community-based outpatient service characterised by family centred and individually tailored treatment packages. There is close working across teams to ensure responsive patient-centred packages of care.

### Main duties of the job

The post-holder will have overall Consultant responsibility for the Adolescent Team and, shared together with his/her Consultant colleagues on the Hounslow site, for the provision of the comprehensive general child and adolescent mental health services in Hounslow CAMHS in line with service and contractual requirements.

The consultant will be expected to share responsibility for the efficient and effective running of the service. The various roles and responsibilities of all staff and the Consultant group are agreed with the Clinical Director in line with the current service needs, service developments and clinical interests and managed within an annual formal job planning process. The post-holder will have the opportunity to develop special interests that meet the needs of the service e.g. tic disorders, safeguarding or others.

Within the Adolescent Team, the post-holder will assist with the delivery of a comprehensive range of assessments, therapeutic interventions, training and consultation with the multi-disciplinary team. He/she will share responsibility for allocated cases and other clinical leadership duties for the team. The post-holder will be expected to provide both urgent and non-urgent psychiatric outpatient assessment, treatment and psychological interventions to cases under his/her direct care. The post-holder will be directly clinically involved with a proportion of open cases in line with the job planning agreement.

## Person Specification

### Eligibility

**Essential**

- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice at the time of appointment
- GMC Specialist Register for child and adolescent psychiatry or within six months
- Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
- Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment

**Desirable**

- Good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification

**Desirable**

- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management
- MRCPsych
- Additional clinical qualifications

### Other Requirements
