The Behçets Service, within the department of Rheumatology, is one of 3 National  Centres of Excellence and is a Highly Specialised Service commissioned by NHS  England.  The core functions of the service are delivered by a multidisciplinary team  comprising two Rheumatologists, a Behçet’s Nurse Consultant and other Consultants  in Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Gynaecology and Clinical Psychology, all contributing  to a one-stop clinic. The clinical team is supported by a Data Manager and Office  Manager. The Liverpool Centre currently has 700 patients with Behçet’s from all over  England (and devolved nations) on its books.
