We are seeking a Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in Non-Vascular Interventional Radiology to join Hywel Dda University Health Board. This role offers the opportunity to combine a broad general radiology practice with a varied range of non-vascular interventional procedures, contributing to the delivery and continued development of radiology services across the region. The successful candidate will join a supportive and collaborative radiology department, working alongside experienced colleagues to provide high-quality diagnostic and interventional services. We welcome applications from candidates with demonstrable expertise in a wide range of non-vascular interventions and an interest in helping to shape and develop services to meet the needs of our population. Applications are welcomed from candidates seeking full-time or less than full-time opportunities. For those with experience in vascular interventions, there may also be opportunities to explore joint working arrangements with neighbouring Health Boards. The postholder will be based at either Glangwili General Hospital, Prince Philip Hospital or Withybush General Hospital, with the base site agreed on appointment. Occasional travel to our other acute hospital sites, including Bronglais General Hospital, will be required in line with service needs. This is an opportunity to join a Health Board serving some of Wales' most beautiful coastal, rural and urban communities, combining a rewarding consultant career with an exceptional quality of life and access to a wide range of outdoor and cultural experiences. ### Main duties of the job This is a new post with the base to be agreed on appointment, joining 24 Consultant Radiologists providing radiology services to the population of Hywel Dda University Health Board, 2.5wte of whom undertake non-vascular interventions. The post holder will actively contribute to MDT meetings and be competent in a wide range of non-vascular interventions to include fluoroscopic, ultrasound and CT guided therapeutic and diagnostic techniques such as: - Head and neck, lung, liver, omental, retroperitoneal and soft tissue biopsies - Temporary and permanent chest and abdominal drain insertions (e.g. cholecystectomy, nephrostomy and DJ ureteric stenting). The successful candidate will participate in the daytime Duty Radiologist rota covering inpatient scanning which could include cross cover from the base site. A proportion of the out of hours (OOH) on call is currently outsourced and completed remotely by an online Teleradiology provider. However, the directorate is currently subject to transformation bringing a proportion of this service in-house. The successful candidate will participate in the new internal on-call rota. This will include providing and promoting a flexible approach by contributing to this service completing cross-site reporting and emergency cover for our four main hospital sites where necessary on site and remotely from home. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities For full details of the role requirements please see attached Job Description and Person Specification for this vacancy.
