### Job overview

Consultant Radiologist with Interest in Musculoskeletal Imaging

This is a new consultant post. The post holder will be expected to work closely in the team with the existing radiologists to support the continuing development of imaging within UHL as a whole. The post holder will be covering inpatient and ED MSK imaging as part of a, currently, 1 in 10 in-hours rota. There is the opportunity to join a currently 1 in ?30 general ED/IP rota with on-call.

The appointment will be whole time.  Any consultant who is unable for personal reasons, to work whole time, will be eligible to be considered for the post.  If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis in consultation with consultant colleagues.

A major refurbishment programme of all Trust MRI and CT scanners has recently been completed ensuring the latest technology is available.

The service has strong links to academic and other radiology departments; the opportunity to be involved in research is available for interested candidates. Successful candidates will be expected to participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and clinical governance.

- To take part in the diagnostic on-call rota within UHL and assist in the provision of weekend radiological support for the Imaging service.
- To participate in the provision of sarcoma services in the region including participation in the sarcoma MDT and providing an US/US-guided biopsy service
- Ability to perform CT guided intervention (bone biopsy) is desirable.
