There are two posts available one based at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital and one based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, part of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) is the leading university teaching hospital in the West Midlands, serving a regional, national and international population. The Trust employs around 20,000 staff across 4 large hospital sites and several community sites and provides services to 2.2m patients every year, from a single outpatient appointment to a heart transplant. We are a regional centre for cancer, bone marrow transplants, trauma, renal dialysis, burns and plastics, HIV and AIDS, as well as respiratory conditions like cystic fibrosis; thoracic surgery and have the largest solid organ transplantation programme in Europe. We also provide a series of highly specialist cardiac, liver and neurosurgery services to patients from across the UK. The imaging department at UHB has expanded to more than 90 consultants working across all 4 main hospital sites. These are principally Head and Neck Radiology posts involving cross sectional reporting, Ultrasound of the Head and Neck incorporating FNA and Core biopsy and contribution to a regional tertiary centre Head and Neck MDT.
