### Job overview

We are seeking an exceptional and innovative Consultant Psychologist to join our Home Treatment Team at an exciting time of investment and service development. Significant new investment in therapies is enabling us to enhance our community crisis offer, ensuring more people can receive high-quality, evidence-based support in their own homes, reducing unnecessary hospital admissions and supporting timely discharge from inpatient care.

As Consultant Psychologist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the psychological approach across the Home Treatment Team. Working collaboratively with operational, clinical and professional leaders, you will support the development of innovative pathways that improve outcomes for people experiencing mental health crises.

You will provide expert consultation, assessment, formulation and intervention for individuals with highly complex presentations, whilst supporting the development of psychologically informed practice across the wider workforce.

There is an expectations that the Consultant Psychologist will routinely travel to the Home Treatment Team sites in Staines, Frimley, Guilldford and Redhill as part of their role, and will be actively engaged across the 4 teams.

### Main duties of the job

My job makes better lives by guiding, supporting, supervising and developing the psychology workforce in providing services within the Trust, taking into account changes and developments in line with the Trust Clinical Strategy and reflecting national and local demands. By providing strategic leadership in the development and provision of clinical services.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

- To work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary colleagues, service leads and the Associate Director of Therapies to develop and continuously review the strategy for the delivery of a full range of psychological services and the development of psychological mindedness across all services.
- To lead and/or contribute to service improvements, change programmes and business developments as required.
- To plan and deliver expert clinical interventions, consultation and training.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Extensive post qualification clinical experience in relevant clinical setting
- Extensive experience of leading in clinical practice, service development or project work and contributing to strategic initiatives
- Extensive experience of implementing change following audit and service evaluation
- Demonstrable experience of developing complex formulations drawing on multiple psychological models
- Experience of advising senior managers on complex psychological issues and risk

### Registration

**Essential**

- HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology qualification or equivalent
- Completion of an appropriate clinical supervision course to enable supervision of trainees
- Holds a drivers lincense and has access to a vehicle for work purposes

**Desirable**

- Additional academic clinical qualification relevant to area of work
- Additional leadership/management study
