Priory Hospital Preston£108528.0Part time | 22.5 hours | Site basedGMC Registration requiredPriory Hospital Preston is looking to recruit a consultant psychiatrist to join the team.Priory Hospital Preston, Bartle, near Preston is amental health hospital offering services for adult males and females with acute mental health needs and eating disorders across four wards. It is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes and Preston railway station nearby. The M55 motorway is also easily accessible.

### What you'll be doing

- Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews and the development of a therapeutic milieu.
- Fulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician to patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
- Supervising the process of referral and admission including contributing to preadmission assessments of young people with other team members.
- Offering a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team in relation to the assessment, formulation and treatment of adults.

Applicants must hold MRCPsych (or an equivalent qualification), a CCT (or equivalent) and be included on the GMC Specialist Register, along with Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status. They must demonstrate clinical knowledge, skills, and experience relevant to the speciality, the ability to work within and lead a team, and a commitment to shared leadership, collaborative working, and service improvement. Candidates should also have evidence of ongoing continuous professional development.In addition, highly developed communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as the role relies on building trust and confidence with patients to ensure that treatments and interventions are effective and successful.
