## Job Content

Priory Hospital Woking is looking to recruit a Private Practice Consultant Psychiatrist (Visiting Consultant). This is a self-employed opportunity. Priory Hospital Woking is a mental health and addiction rehab hospital, offering world class inpatient and outpatient treatment. We can treat a variety of addictions and mental health conditions, including alcohol and drug recovery services, and treatment for depression. We can also offer private autism assessments for adults, as well as an autism psychological support pathway for adults who have been diagnosed with autism. In addition, we can offer access to specialist eating disorder treatment at nearby Life Works.

### What you'll be doing

- Serve as Consultant and Responsible Clinician, leading patient care planning and multidisciplinary collaboration across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Assess and manage complex cases, chair MDT/CPA meetings, and liaise with patients, families, and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to governance and quality improvement through active participation in ward, CAMHS, and service development meetings.
- Engage in academic activities including teaching, case presentations, audit, research, and ongoing professional development.

### What you'll bring to the role

**Essential**

- Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows. The successful candidate will be GMC-registered and able to provide proof when needed. You’ll have strong experience in multidisciplinary teams, with leadership in care coordination and discharge planning. Excellent communication, autonomy, and problem-solving skills are essential. You must be confident using evidence-based, patient-centred practice and take part in a non-residential second on-call rota.
