Older Adult Inpatient Team vacancies

1 x Consultant Psychiatrist, Cedars Ward - Dorothy Pattison Hospital Older Adult Unit Walsall

This is a new post which has become available due to internal restructuring of the Medical Workforce and as part of our Inpatient bed strategy and to implement GIRFT (Getting It Right First Time) recommendations.

We are looking to appoint 2 Consultants, one in Edward street hospital(ESH), Sandwell and other in Dorothy Pattison hospital(DPH), Walsall.

### Main duties of the job

The post holder is expected to provide consultant medical lead and care of all inpatients on their respective wards. This will include but not restricted to day-to-day care of all aspects of patient care along with the inpatient MDT which to include nurses, AHP, Psychology and other professionals involved in day to day and overall care of the inpatients.

The consultant or/and senior member of the medical team will be expected to at least formally undertake a ward reviews twice a week along with the MDT.

The post holder or/and senior member of the medical team to be involved in daily huddles at the start of the day for regular oversight

The post holder will also be expected to liaise with Community and Hospital at Home Teams of the four localities. These Community Teams Medical Leads will be responsible for their specific catchment area in each of the four localities.

The post holders will be expected to support to implement BCHFT GIRFT (Getting it Right First Time) and other directives in their inpatient roles along with the inpatient and other MDTs.

The BCHFT has been keen to introduce ten high impact GIRFT actions e.g. improving/implementing estimated discharge date, Red to Green huddles, Red to Green dashboards, purpose for admission, 72-hour care formulation etc.
