This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the provision of exceptional clinical care for patients with complex acute respiratory conditions. A significant component of the role is dedicated to respiratory care, which will include managing both general respiratory patients and more complex cases, particularly within the newly developed NIV unit. The post holder will have access to research opportunities within the Respiratory Medicine department. This post is ideal for a dynamic consultant keen to develop both in the general and respiratory medicine fields. ### Main duties of the job - Ward management of up to 28 respiratory patients - RSU management of 10 acute respiratory patients including 6 dedicated NIV beds. - Opportunity to deliver bronchoscopy, general respiratory, and pleural clinics during off ward weeks - Participation in specialist services such as Severe Asthma, Pleural Disease, ILD, Pulmonary Infection, and Lung Cancer (EBUS @ LHCH) - Opportunities for research involvement - On call commitment only during ward weeks. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities This Consultant Physician role offers a blend of clinical and leadership duties in Respiratory Medicine. In Respiratory Medicine, the consultant will provide leadership in the Respiratory Unit, managing complex respiratory patients and supporting the newly developed NIV unit.
