### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Your Contribution:

- Provide outpatient and inpatient Stroke Medicine services.
- Undertake infrequent inpatient General Medicine services.
- Participate in a regular 1 in 11 commitment to the acute medical on-call rota.
- Contribute to the supervision of junior medical staff.
- Engage in teaching, examination, and accreditation duties.
- Participate in undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Should have completed a recognised training programme in General Internal Medicine and Care of the Elderly with experience of Stroke Medicine
- Must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in GIM, Care of the Elderly and Stroke Medicine

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- MBBS or equivalent. MRCP or equivalent.
- Entry on the GMC specialist register for General Internal Medicine and either Stroke Medicine or Geriatrics via (a) CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview), (b) CESR or (c) European Community rights”

### Teaching / Research

**Essential**

- Experience of teaching and training undergraduates, postgraduates and junior medical staff
- Evidence of participation in clinical audit relevant to specialty
