The postholder will be employed by OUHFT.  It is expected that they will adhere to the local policies of all trusts when delivering services there; working collaboratively with colleagues cross the Network to develop effective & efficient patient pathways. The successful applicant will join a team of nine consultant vascular surgeons, eight consultant interventional radiologists & seven vascular clinical nurse specialists within the TVVN.  We seek an individual who will work closely these colleagues, along with local GPs across the network to develop local services & develop a streamlined pathway for vascular patients requiring inpatient care in Oxford. The postholder will be expected to cover the full range of elective and emergency endovascular and open surgery in Oxford. Rarely this may involve the management of paediatric cases. They will work within a team which covers Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire patients and will be expected to provide cross cover for leave. Personal and Professional  Development Mentoring will be provided by a senior member of the department for the first year of working and for any additional needs beyond this time. The post-holder will be required to keep himself/herself fully up to date with their relevant area of practice and to be able to demonstrate this to the satisfaction of the Trust.   Professional or study leave will be granted at the discretion of the Trust, in line with the prevailing Terms and Conditions of Service, to support appropriate study, postgraduate training activities, relevant CME courses and other appropriate personal development needs.   Both Trusts commit to support the postholder through the revalidation process. Management The post-holder will be required to work within the Trust's management policies and procedures, both statutory and internal, accepting that the resources available to the Trust are finite and that all changes in clinical practice or workload, or developments requiring additional resources must have prior agreement with the Trust.  He/she will undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of his/her patients, and the running of his/her clinical department under the direction of the lead clinician and/or directorate chair. The outline job plan comprises a total of 10 programmed activities (PAs) per week.
